report be submitted by mid-September. Members decided the Haines Park sign and barrier plantings, Earth Day, Town Woods, Public Access, the banner and outreach would need to be included. Tom will begin writing the rough draft. Further discussion on this will take place at the August meeting.

  • Region 18 Solar Issue
Tom mentioned there is a great deal of misinformation on this issue circulating throughout the town. There will be a redress by the Facilities Committee on this in the fall. That will be the opportunity to use the petition signatures.

  • Town Woods Update
Lauralyn reported that the selectmen have renewed Ron Tyler’s contract for three years; Selectwoman Nosal has been in touch with UConn regarding the treatment on the fields thus far and has been assured the treatment is acceptable; and Jerry Silbert has suggested the town select someone who could oversee Ron Tyler and the decided upon treatment of the fields.

  • Roger’s Lake
Sue reported that Linda has been meeting with Inland Wetlands and is working to get approval for the barrier plantings at Hains Park.

Linda will be borrowing two weed mats from the RLA for use against the phragmites at Hains Park.

Suctioning of the invasives in the lake will begin in a few weeks.
